Who am I?

I’m Nikki Thurston, a Foothealth FPS Practioner (registered no FPS Pract. 23176FHP) and Member of the Alliance of Private Sector Practitioners, Accredited Register). I’m also a Complementary Therapist, MLD trained and a Member of MLD.uk. I have over 25 years’ experience in Beauty Therapy, with an ITEC and City & Guilds qualification.

Why do I need your personal data?

I use your personal and medical data to assess you and provide appropriate treatment.

How is your personal data collected?

When you complete the online enquiry form, make a booking online or call/make an enquiry over the phone certain details are collected from you to enable me to deal with the enquiry or process your booking. I may also collect details from you in other ways, for example, if you enter a competition or reply to a special offer on my social media accounts.

How will I use your personal and medical data within my practice?

I will use your data to contact you for appointments, send reminders and from time to time to tell you about offers. With your consent, I may write to your GP to ask them to help with referrals or to ask if I can proceed with treatment, or I may suggest you go to your GP to be re-assessed.

Occasionally third parties will ‘manage’ my data, for services such as e-marketing campaigns and postal mailings. All third parties will be chosen carefully and information will be given securely.

How do you keep my data secure?

All computers and computer software is password protected. Payment is taken via secure card processing companies, namely Paypal and Stripe Payment systems. Payment details are not retained and therefore you will be required to enter new payments details with each transaction.

What do I do if I want to change the data that is held?

How can I access the data you hold for me?

How long will you keep my data for?

There is a legal requirement to keep medical notes for a period of time after treatment. This can vary in length depending on your age and ability to consent but will be for a minimum of 7 years. Your details will be destroyed after this period.

How can I retract consent for you to hold and process my records?

How can I raise a complaint?

Should you have a complaint regarding your data, please contact me straight away and I will work with you to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction. In the unlikely event that you are still not happy, you have the right to contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.

How do I opt in/out of receiving information?

If you are registering your details with me for the purpose of making an enquiry, booking an appointment or receiving treatment, we will also ask if you are happy for us to contact you via post, email, phone or text message with information such as new services and special offers. If you consent to do this but later change your mind, you can opt out by contacting me. You can also click ‘unsubscribe’ at the bottom of any emails and I will then update your account preferences.

How will I know if you change this policy?

If changes are made to this statement, we will keep you informed by updating this statement on our website.
